In an interview recently Donald Glover said "We live in a time right now where it's not OK to say the truth and then learn you were wrong later" in the context of people speaking their minds on social issues. This quote really resonated with me and immediately called to mind some of the recent discussions you've had, like at your PAX panel, about furthering the conversation. Just thought you might appreciate that simple yet striking sentence.
I don’t think that’s entirely fair.
Here’s a question: why are you speaking ignorantly? Is there a reason you’re speaking without actually doing the research? Obviously, celebrities find themselves in a situation where they are asked for opinions on various subjects constantly, and might not have a 100% well-considered answer every time. Fair. This happens to me sometimes. In that scenario, where you might, due to the nature of your job, say ignorant things in a public space, the onus is on you to get educated and pass that knowledge on.
